JANUARY 2010 Hole in One! Visiting Golfer Allison Nicholson achieved the feat most golfers’ dream of when she recorded the first Hole-in-One for 2010 at the par 3 Hole 8 on January 31. Hailing from England, Allison has been a member of the Silecroft Golf Club for just 12 month and plays off a 36 Handicap. As her playing partners celebrated her achievement, Allison was not fully convinced that her ball had indeed gone into the hole. Approaching the green with her wedge and putter in hand, she was delighted to see the ball resting at the bottom of the cup. This is truly a golfing accomplishment that will always hold a special place in her memory. Drinks flowed on the golf club house terrace as Allison and her playing mates toasted her Hole-in-One.

JULY 2009 First Albatross at Taba Heights Taba Heights Golf Resort witnessed its first ever Albatross on July 5th. Adrian Mulholland, GM of the Taba Sands Casino achieved this incredible feat on Hole 14, the longest golf hole in Egypt measuring an impressive 620 Yards. After big hitting, Adrian unleashed a drive of 335 Yards and stood on the neatly mown fairway faced with a shot of 285 Yards to the pin. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he launched the ball into the air with his 3 Wood and watched it sail towards the green. The ball landed softly at the front of the green and rolled towards the cup. Having eyesight similar to an Albatross, Adrian watched with great excitement as the ball rolled into the cup for a really achieved Albatross two. “If only I’d entered the two’s club!” Adrian joked. An Albatross or Double Eagle (as it is referred to in the US) is an achievement rarely seen even in professional golf and is a testament to the long, straight shots Adrian is renowned for in Taba Heights.
MAY 2009 Race to Taba Heights Season Finale Tony Lowe (11 H’cap), returning to Taba Heights to defend his crown from the previous March 2009 event, produced another display of consistent golf heading the field with 35 points. Taking second place on a count back also with 35 points was Tony’s wife, Sue Lowe (H’cap 29). The First and Second finish by husband and wife was a first for Taba Heights Golf Resort.
